Dry weather and hot summer temperatures developed about mid June and continues into July. There is nothing unusual about this type of weather and the usual hot days and cool summer nights. Some tropical moisture will creep over parts of the West in the next 7 days, but only isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms are expected.

Long Range Forecast
Hot dry summer weather with spotty afternoon and evening thunderstorms is expected through the 2nd week of July. I do not see a significant
push of Monsoon moisture, although usually we see this pattern in Arizona, New Mexico and Eastern Utah as well as Colorado in the last
half of July. Some of this moisture will occasionally push northward into Wyoming, Idaho and occasionally on the Sierra Nevada of California. This is the dry time of the year for most areas and affords plentiful outside opportunities without the significant weather delays and weather problems like flash flooding and severe thunderstorms that do plague the area during the latter half of the summer.
